God's Perfect Timing

‘His banner over me is love’ is a song we used to sing years ago, and this is how I felt just recently, whilst having a ‘break’ at a relatives’ home in the countryside.

Whilst staying in the village of Burnham-on-Crouch, I went to the local Baptist church. The people in the church, there, are very warm-hearted and kind people. One of the couples from the church invited me to an evening meal at their house.

Then on the last day I was in Burnham, I took a walk along by the water. I looked at the sun shining across the water, and beside the boats and yachts. As I was taking photos, I was thinking that I’d very much like to see one particular lady from the church. As I then looked up at one of the building overlooking the path, beside the water, I saw this lady I’d wanted to see again. She had her window open, and was sitting near to the window, doing some sewing.

As I called up to her, she became very excited with a lovely smile on her face. She told me that she had also been praying that she could see me before I returned to London, but that she didn’t know where I was staying!

As we chatted and drank tea together, I was able to get an even more spectacular view of the sun setting over the water, and forming different colours on the water as the sun descended.

After chatting, we prayed together, and my friend prayed a very encouraging blessing over me, before I was to return to London the next day. They were words taken from a very encouraging book.

God is perfect. His love is amazing. His perfect banner over us is love. Praise the Lord.
